Bathroom Vessel Sink |

A popular trend in bathroom remodels is that of bathroom vessel sinks. The integration of these types of sinks is a move towards a more elegant bathroom space. For those of you that are not familiar with what this is, it is basically a sink that sits on top of the counter. It is not like the majority of traditional sinks that are part of the counter top. This creates a unique look that is for the more chic homeowners, looking for a contemporary element for their bathroom. Let’s look at some different types of sinks and details about them. There are two variations of vessel sinks. They are either going to be placed on top of the counter or they are stand-alone units. A stand-alone unit could be placed on top of some type of furniture in the bathroom. This creates a very unique look that is not like the majority of bathrooms you’ve seen before. The bathroom vessel sink gives you an added element that you can’t find in most bathrooms. This can basically be the centerpiece of your decorating efforts in the room. You can find all kinds of complementary pieces that will go with your sink. These types of sinks come in every color, shape, and texture imaginable. Therefore, you won’t be stuck with a basic look anymore. The looks in your bathroom are now limited only by your imagination. Before, your sink simply set down inside the counter and didn’t attract any attention whatsoever. When comparing the two types of sinks, you are most likely bored with this type of sink. However, when you go with a vessel sink, it becomes a conversation piece as well as a focal point in the room. Vessel sinks come in a plethora of different materials. The most common form is one made of glass. This is an attractive look as you can see the water running into it from the outside. It almost creates a water feature by itself. While glass may be the most popular, it is by no means the only choice. You can get one in granite, onyx, marble, stone, travertine, wood, copper, or many other choices. Each one of these materials portrays a vastly different look in your room. You can now get very creative with your bathroom sink. Besides the sink itself, you can now choose what type of faucet you will use for it. As with the sink, the choices are virtually endless. All of the traditional choices are available as well as many others. This is another great way to add a distinct feel to your bathroom. When it comes time to have your sink installed, it is usually best to let the professionals do it. If you’re handy, you can probably tackle it. However, this type of project is not for the traditional weekend warrior. There is plumbing involved and some of the sinks can get complicated. Use your best judgment when deciding whether to undertake this project. Once the sink is installed, you will be well on your way to having the bathroom of your dreams.
